EscrowCheck tool - You need this!

What is it?

EscrowCheck is a free tool that allows Taxpayers to check their escrow payment status from your website in real time using data obtained from our EscrowCloud Platform. Taxpayers generally have no visibility on the status of their escrow payments, but they will with EscrowCheck. 

Is it Safe?

Yes! At Autoagent, security is paramount, ensuring the peace of mind of every user using our products. We adhere to rigorous security protocols and regularly undergo extensive auditing to maintain our defenses against any potential threats. Proudly, Autoagent is also PCI DSS Level 1 certified, representing the highest level of security standard in the industry. EscrowCheck does not interfere with your internal systems in any way, neither does it affect your website’s operation. It is a standard JavaScript code that draws the EscrowCheck search tool on your Taxpayer’s computer, tablet, or mobile device.  

Does it Search My Web or System Data or Autoagent’s Data?

No, EscrowCheck does NOT touch your web data, internal data, or office systems. The search is conducted on the EscrowCloud platform based on tax bill data and payment data that Autoagent receives from your office and payers.  

How Does it Work?

A Taxpayer simply enters their property ID, Bill Number, Account Number or whatever identifier you use (no name or address searches allowed) and the tool will search EscrowCloud payment activity, including those made by escrow companies. If we don’t have an escrow payer on record, it is smart enough to let the Taxpayer know if an escrow payer paid that bill within the prior 2 years. 

In addition, EscrowCheck can predict future payments by an escrow company or mortgage lender. If you use Pre-Commitments, it will inform the Taxpayer that the escrow company has requested their tax bill and will likely be paying it on their behalf. 

Finally, if you utilize our MuniciPay Payment Platform (previously iPayments), the Taxpayer will be directed to pay their bill through your payment portal if no escrow payer is detected and a balance is due.  

Do You Track Activity?

Yes! Our EscrowCloud widget tracks user interactions and shows how it reduces workload. We can provide reports on how many phone calls, emails, and inquiries our tool likely prevented for your office. This helps our clients see the clear benefits of using EscrowCloud, allowing them to focus more on their main business tasks.   

Can it Detect Payments from Mortgage Lenders that Don’t Use EscrowCloud to Pay Us?

No! EscrowCheck does not have the capability to track mortgage lenders, tax servicers, or lenders that are making payments to your tax office outside of EscrowCloud. When these external payments occur, they often lead to increased administrative tasks, such as processing refunds and handling errors. Utilizing EscrowCloud for all escrow payments can
 significantly reduce these issues by keeping all payment activities centralized. This transparency enables EscrowCheck to further reduce refunds, questions and inquiries from Taxpayers who generally have no visibility on their escrow payments.

Where Should I Plug the Widget in?

Best idea is to plug it in a page that has information about paying taxes. Find a good blank spot on the top, middle or bottom of the page and plug it in there.  

Who Can Plug in the Code For Us?

Typically, the people or team that manages your website. If you use an outside consulting company that manages your site, this should be a minimal 15-minute task. If your Web team is experiencing any issues with the plug-in, have them contact us at [email protected].
